March 2023

Special Events / Important Dates

- From March 1st to March 15th, we are doing an online fundraiser with TJ’s Pizza. Parents/guardians will be able to submit orders online and orders will be delivered to the center on April 14th; we will hand them out at pickup. We will be adding an incentive to sell: for the top boy and girl sellers, parents/guardians may choose a $25 gift card of their choosing.

- Picture day is Tuesday, March 7th at 9:00am! Please make sure to have your child here by then and to bring back picture forms on or before that Tuesday. Feel free to bring an extra set of clothes for your child to change into afterwards.

- On Thursday, March 16th at 9:00, we will be having a make-up vision/hearing screening for the children who were absent or those who require a re-screening.

- Friday, March 17th is green day. Make sure to wear something green! We will also be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

- On Tuesday, March 28th, we will be having breakfast with the Easter bunny at 9:00. Please make sure to have your child here by then.

- We are updating our website and are asking parents/guardians to write or type out a testimonial of the center for the new website. Please turn in a hard copy (handwritten or typed) by Friday, March 31st!!! Thank you!!!

IMPORTANT NOTES

- On Fridays, parking will be limited in the afternoons due to the fish fry; as such, it might be easier to park in the lower parking lot or Althoff’s parking lot.

- We are asking for non-edible prizes and fruit snacks /fruit roll-up donations for our Easter party on April 4th! We are planning on the kids doing an Easter egg hunt and playing games with prizes. Please turn in donations by Friday, March 31st.

- Every child needs to have some extra clothes in their locker in case of accidents! If you have borrowed clothes from the center, please make sure to return them! Thank you!

- Please let Ms. Judy or Ms. Nicole know if your child will use vacation days! This allows us to get a more accurate lunch count.

- Please make sure to dress for the weather! Close-toed shoes are required in order to play on the playground!

- Any donations to the classroom (Kleenex boxes, baby wipes, etc.) would be greatly appreciated!

INCLEMENT WEATHER

In case of inclement weather, watch news channels 2, 4, 5, or 11 or go online to view school closings. We will be listed under preschools and/or businesses. We will try to have the announcement on by 5:30 am. If we declare a SNOW SCHEDULE DAY, it will be announced as such and the center will not open until 8:00 am.

WHERE DID FEBRUARY GO?!

Time flies when you are having fun, so each classroom wanted to share a highlight of February!

  • Cookie Monsters
  • “This month, we made lots of hearts for Valentine’s Day. They were so proud to bring their lunch! We talked about eating healthy foods and did lots of dancing and a few new exercises, such as jumping jacks and jumping on one foot.”
  • Counts
  • “February was a short month but big on activity. We learned how to make the color pink by mixing red and white. It was all about love with our valentine sweetheart lunch, exchanging cards, and making gift boxes for our parents. We made masks for our Mardi Gras parade and got beads. We learned about Jonah and the whale. Dr. Seuss week was busy: Red Fish Blue Fish, The Lorax, and The Cat in the Hat. We are making desserts for the fish fries on Fridays too.”
  • Sunshines
  • “In addition to celebrating Valentine’s Day, we learned a lot about dental health and made elephant toothpaste! For National Pizza Day, we ate Papa Vito’s pizza for lunch, courtesy of the Geoppo family. We also celebrated Dr. Seuss by doing activities related to his stories.”
